Drinking Water’s pH Factor

The human body is about 67 percent water. Should that water be acidic or alkaline - or pH neutral? Since a pH factor of 0 is alkaline, and a pH factor of 14 is acidic, should we bring our Drinking Water to a pH factor of 7.0?
Scientists come down on both sides of the matter. Nevertheless, there is a growing belief among laymen that our bodies are generally too acidic, and that excess acidity may be causing many “aging” diseases.
Saliva pH Test
The “saliva pH” test is one test used by those who saw our Drinking Water should be pH neutral. The saliva is tested on pH paper to determine its level. This test uses saliva to evaluate the body’s pH level. The belief is that saliva gives a consistent physical sign of ionic calcium deficiency syndrome. A person who is healthy, and has no ionic calcium deficiency, is said to have saliva in the 7.5 to 7.1 pH range. Since a 7.0 pH factor is neutral and balanced, the near-neutral pH level of healthy people seems to equate a neutral pH with health. Thus, we should neutralize our bodies with appropriate Drinking Water.
Children Versus Adults
One strong basis for the alkaline Drinking Water belief is the difference between saliva test results of children and those of adults.
* Most children tested with the saliva test show a pH factor of 7.5.
* Over half of adults show a pH factor of 6.5 or lower.
It is believed that the children’s mid-range pH reading is a sign of health and youth. The adults’ lower reading is said to reflect the calcium deficiency of aging, and of improper lifestyle.
Where to Get pH Neutral Drinking Water
Drinking Water with a pH factor of 7.0 is not available from most municipal water supplies. Nor can you purchase it in bottles. Alkaline Drinking Water is produced in the home with an “aqua charger” that filters and ionizes the water, dispensing it through your tap.
