Drinking Water Delivery – Cost-effective Convenience

Expert AuthorDrinking water is vital for every human beyond infancy. In our busy lives, however, we often get too busy to drink water. Or we aren’t in a place where it’s convenient to get water.

Clean, Convenient Fresh Water

Small carry-along bottles are convenient when we are out, but can be a nuisance at home or in the office.

Given the choice, would you rather …

* Haul home cases of bottled water from the store
* Have large bottles of water delivered to your home

Given a second choice, would you rather …

* Recycle hundreds or thousands of small bottles yearly
* Have empty large bottles removed regularly for you

Drinking water delivery offers a solution.

Cost of Drinking Water Delivery

Drinking water delivery has become very affordable. For those who drink bottled water anyway, the difference can be incredible. It varies among providers, of course, but consider the math for average service. Assume two adults, using bottled water only for drinking, and consuming the recommended 8 glasses daily.

Each adult will drink 2 quarts daily, 7 gallons weekly. Bottled water in the most common individual bottle size costs roughly $7.50 per gallon. One week of water for our couple would cost $52.50. That is an annual cost of $2,730 for two people, assuming no additional driving to get water.

Drinking water delivery averages about $1.50 per gallon. One week of water for our couple would cost $10.50 instead of $52.50. The annual cost would be $546 instead of $2,730. Add a dispenser stand at a rent of about $1 per week or $52 per year, and the cost of drinking water delivery totals $598 per year.

For 2 people, the cost of drinking water delivery is $2,132 LESS each year than the cost of purchasing individual bottles of drinking water.

Convenience of Drinking Water Delivery

With drinking water delivery, your choice of water jug sizes, as well as a base or water cooler are delivered to your door. Sometimes, they are delivered to a place inside the home at no additional cost. The jug is inverted on the base, allowing water to be dispensed through a faucet.

When the jug is empty, you simply replace it with a full one, and set aside the empty for collection by the drinking water delivery company. On your specified delivery day, the driver will pick up empty jugs and deliver fresh, full jugs to your door. No driving to the grocery store; no heaving bottles into and out of grocery carts; no loading and unloading the car with bottles; no disposal of empty bottles.

You always have plenty of fresh water, and the reduced cost allows you to cook with fresh bottled water, using it for soups, coffee, tea and other beverages.

Emergency Preparedness and Drinking Water Delivery

Experts recommend storing 7 gallons of bottled water per person to be prepared for emergencies. That means our hypothetical couple should have 14-15 gallons of bottled water in an emergency cupboard in case of a natural disaster such as hurricane, tornado, flood, etc.

Drinking water delivery companies can deliver that water to your door in jugs of a convenient size.

Drinking water delivery is available online, and can be ordered quickly.

I appreciate all your comments concerning bottled water. My concern is that Federal and State Emergency Preparedness Programs still include plastic and bottled water in their programs when they tell us “they public” they want to go “green”. The word on the street is that a new company called World Grocer has a new “canned” water product that is great for governmental use. The water apparently has a long shelf life, it comes in a metal can and is 100% recycable. I just learned of it and have not tasted it. But if it is a metal can….that rust into dust, compared to plastic bottles that take up the landfills of America…I am for it. Any one try that water yet or know more about it.
