Healthy drinking water is a vital commodity in life. It is needed daily, and is needed in sufficient quantity to replenish our bodies and keep us healthy.
Usually, we drink our water cold, but some believe there are benefits to drinking hot water. True, it does not cool us on hot summer days, but there may be other benefits.
Purification
Some believe that drinking hot water is much like going to a sauna. It purifies the body. How? Their reasoning goes like this.
* As you are drinking hot water, your body temperature rises slightly.
* To maintain its average 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, your body begins to perspire. Perspiration is its method of cooling itself.
* Perspiration induced by drinking hot water flushes toxins from your body, helping to purify your bloodstream.
* Additionally, drinking hot water helps remove deposits in the nervous system. These deposits are believed to have a negative effect on thoughts and emotional responses.
* By drinking hot water, you can thus purify mind and body.
To purify yourself, try drinking hot water once or twice a week. The water should be very warm so you will begin to perspire, but it should not burn your mouth. You should begin to sweat as your body tries to lower its temperature. When you stop sweating, try drinking hot water again to balance your temperature.
Nasal Cavity Clearance
Drinking hot water can also be effective in clearing nasal cavities. If you are ill, drinking hot water can make you feel less congested. The water vapor causes the buildup in nasal cavities to loosen.
Why not coffee or tea? Drinking hot water gives you the warmth without dehydrating you as a caffeine drink will.
If drinking hot water plain is unappetizing to you, add a slice of lemon.
Avoid Drinking Hot Water from the Hot Water Tap
You should avoid drinking hot water from the hot side of the kitchen faucet, even though it saves time. Instead, let the cold water run a few moments, and take water from that side. Heat it on the stove until it is hot enough.
Why? Your water heater contains metals that can be dissolved by hot water. Some pipes in your home may have lead soldering, which also can be dissolved by hot water. Add to that the fact that municipal water impurities collect and precipitate in the bottom of your hot water heater.
If you are going to be drinking hot water, make sure it is as clean as your cold drinking water.

It is true that hot water is healthier than cold. I used to drink it and it has made a difference in the body. So try it and you will benefit a lot.
As a child coming up, my mother use to get up early in the morning and the first thing she does is drink hot tap water. She encouraged us to do the same saying that when you drink hot tap water upon rising and stir around a bit, it will help one to be regular.
Funny thing, this morning when I got up, I thought about my mother who is now deceased and thought about how sluggish I’ve been feeling for the past few days and thought about my mother and her glass of hot water.
When I got up this morning at 4:30am to make coffee, I turned my computer on and searched the internet about the benefits of drinking hot water. And I was shocked to see the many people who have caught on to the benefits of it.
I tried it with a slice of lemon and surprisingly, it had a very pleasant taste and it was soothing going down. “WOW, I think I’ll have another glass please”
And you know what, I don’t feel sluggish, I feel wonderful and even feel energized.
I am a believer.
