Benefits of Drinking Hot Water

Expert AuthorHealthy drinking water is a vital commodity in life. It is needed daily, and is needed in sufficient quantity to replenish our bodies and keep us healthy. Being healthy means maintaining an overall positive feeling of healthiness both physical and mental. Eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water are just a few things to be healthy. Maintaining a fit body and an ideal weight is necessary to good health. However, one must avoid having ultrasonic liposuction, abdomen liposuction, arm liposuction or smart lipo to eliminate actual ultrasonic liposuction cost, abdominal liposuction cost, and more.

Usually, we drink our water cold, but some believe there are benefits to drinking hot water. True, it does not cool us on hot summer days, but there may be other benefits.

Purification

Some believe that drinking hot water is much like going to a sauna. It purifies the body. How? Their reasoning goes like this.

* As you are drinking hot water, your body temperature rises slightly.
* To maintain its average 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, your body begins to perspire. Perspiration is its method of cooling itself.
* Perspiration induced by drinking hot water flushes toxins from your body, helping to purify your bloodstream.
* Additionally, drinking hot water helps remove deposits in the nervous system. These deposits are believed to have a negative effect on thoughts and emotional responses.
* By drinking hot water, you can thus purify mind and body.

To purify yourself, try drinking hot water once or twice a week. The water should be very warm so you will begin to perspire, but it should not burn your mouth. You should begin to sweat as your body tries to lower its temperature. When you stop sweating, try drinking hot water again to balance your temperature.

Some people believe that drinking hot water helps a person lose weight. As a result, it has become part of a healthy diet which is a good factor to consider.  That itself should discourage someone from taking diet pills or having cosmetic surgery such as ultrasonic liposuction, abdominal liposuction, arm lipo or thigh liposuction, etc. being allured by affordable liposuction prices.

Nasal Cavity Clearance

Drinking hot water can also be effective in clearing nasal cavities. If you are ill, drinking hot water can make you feel less congested. The water vapor causes the buildup in nasal cavities to loosen.

Why not coffee or tea? Drinking hot water gives you the warmth without dehydrating you as a caffeine drink will.

If drinking hot water plain is unappetizing to you, add a slice of lemon.

Avoid Drinking Hot Water from the Hot Water Tap

You should avoid drinking hot water from the hot side of the kitchen faucet, even though it saves time. Instead, let the cold water run a few moments, and take water from that side. Heat it on the stove until it is hot enough.

Why? Your water heater contains metals that can be dissolved by hot water. Some pipes in your home may have lead soldering, which also can be dissolved by hot water. Add to that the fact that municipal water impurities collect and precipitate in the bottom of your hot water heater.

If you are going to be drinking hot water, make sure it is as clean as your cold drinking water.

As a child coming up, my mother use to get up early in the morning and the first thing she does is drink hot tap water. She encouraged us to do the same saying that when you drink hot tap water upon rising and stir around a bit, it will help one to be regular.
Funny thing, this morning when I got up, I thought about my mother who is now deceased and thought about how sluggish I’ve been feeling for the past few days and thought about my mother and her glass of hot water.
When I got up this morning at 4:30am to make coffee, I turned my computer on and searched the internet about the benefits of drinking hot water. And I was shocked to see the many people who have caught on to the benefits of it.
I tried it with a slice of lemon and surprisingly, it had a very pleasant taste and it was soothing going down. “WOW, I think I’ll have another glass please”
And you know what, I don’t feel sluggish, I feel wonderful and even feel energized.
    I am a believer.
Thank you Anna Hart for your informative article…..

Amazing article i must say this with whole heartedly. i want to share this with everyone that how and when i started hot water instead of cold water.

From few months i gained extra weight of my body and i was worried, in those days i visited my sister family in Frankfurt, i observed that my sister drink hot water in daily routine, i asked why you are drinking hot water, she smiled and delivered me lecture with full benefits which are mentioned in above article, i believed and started drinking hot water from that moment to date. I feel full energy, spark in my body which stimulate me to do different things for my health, i reduced smoking and do exercise etc. Due to heavy smoking my chest noises badly but due to hot water it almost gone and i am happy, i feel good in breathing.
Some time i use hot water with orange juice (70% hotwater 30% juice) so it gave me good taste, is it ok if i use juice instead of lemon or honey? Guide me please.
Second question is, i sometime even drink hot water with mixture of cold water as above mentioned proportion, so please also guide me for this.

At the end i would advise all that try once and see the results.

    Regards

Hello, I am an American who has been living in Taiwan for the past 3 years. It is very common to drink hot water here, as I’m sure it is in the rest of Asia as well. Most people here actually think cold water is bad for you. Especially when somebody has a cold here, they drink plenty of hot water. During the cold months I drink it just about every day, it is a good way to stay warm and just as the article says, helps with nasal congestion, and is great for sore throats as well! All the benefits of drinking hot water are common knowledge here!

  13. Nathan says:

    Hi,
I am also a big fan of hot water and lemon. Our lemon tree helps with that :)

My question is around the water. We normally boil the water and then add cold water to make t drinkable. Now we have gas so the water isn’t stored in a cylinder but rather is instantly heated to 55 degrees Celsius. Is this fine to drink? My mother in law says having warm water wakes up the germs and it would be better to boil it. Your thoughts? Our water in his area is very good quality. Thanks!!

  14. AALIYAH MOHAMED says:

today is the first day im trying the “boiled water” thing out… cant seem to get the damn water to go down… maybe ill try lemon or honey but does anyone know if by any chance the honey would have an opposite effect of weightloss!

  16. Orelope Yemmy says:

I drink cold water when am thirsty or probably at the time of eating and observed my health, feeling like having block build on my chest. But now
i am a regular tea taker and drink lots of hot water when eating/thirty, feeling healthy and very energetic.
My question is: What is the negative side of drinking much of tea(Beverages) and hot water?
And since its reduce weight, what can i do to maintain my weight because i am
    not the FAT type?

  17. Andrea says:

Hi…I have been drinking boiled water for some time now and often have it with a little bit of ginger. The body is not cut out for drinking cold water and the benefits of hot water is amazing. Deepak Chopra and Ayurveda practices has a wealth of information on this. And anyone tempted to put HONEY in boiling water, DONT! Honey can be toxic when heated, and it also looses its properties. It could be used in luke warm water though.
Also when drinking water, its not the quantity you drink, too much water at once can also be dangerous or give you a bloated belly. The body only needs to replace water as it looses it, so the trick it to drink it regularly.
As far as losing weight and hot water, its like a detox and yes it works! Cold water for weight lose is not as effective as it slows the digestive system down.
    Enjoy :)

  18. EmilyJimmie says:

I’ve heard that the reason people of Asian descent are usually thin is because it is common in Asian culture to drink hot water or teas with a meal, and that while cold water can solidify the fat in the body, hot water can break it down. Is this the case? I definitely plan to try drinking warm water with meals and before starting my day… sounds like a great plan!

I started drinking hot water maybe about a month ago when a chinese doctor instructed me to do so. Recently people have started to tell me that I am losing weight. I wonder if it’s because I have been drinking hot water on a daily basis with meals and on it’s own. I happen to really love the taste of hot water. :)

  21. Mohammed says:

Hi, indeed, drinking water is useful to one’s health and I agree to all what have been mentioned as part of its advantage. But I suggest there is a need to hear the view of some medical doctors on this issues.

    Thank you.

This is a very interesting article. I drink far too much tea and your right in saying it makes you dehydrated. I have one cup and not long after I’m thirsty again. I don’t like squash and I hardly drink water at all. I have been really suffering with bowel problems lately and know that I must change things in my life. I need to cut down my tea intake and have been looking for an alternative. Although drinking hot water sounds repulsive to me, I think I will give it a go with some lemon slices in it. I think I could tolerate this as I love lemon. When you think about it, it must do your body good more good than harm as water is the source of life. I’m going to try it daily for a good month or so and see if I notice any changes. Thank you very much.
