Sparkling Water? Try a Purifier!

What Types of Bacteria Can Grow in Drinking Water?

Tap water may contain:

* Cryptosporidium
* Giardia lamblia
* Coliforms, such as E-coli

U.S. law allows even bottled water to have Coliforms. (21 CFR 165.110[b])

Filter or Purifier?

The EPA clearly defines a difference between a drinking Water Filter and a Drinking Water purifier.

* A filter must provide “4 Log” contaminant reduction.
* A Drinking Water purifier must give “7 Log” contaminant reduction.

If your reduction of contaminants is only “4 Log” (simple filtration), it still has removed at least 99.99% of contaminants. Many people are satisfied with this. However, if you want super-pure water, you want a Drinking Water purifier.

A Drinking Water purifier’s higher “7 Log” reduction of contaminants removes 99.99999% of chemicals, bacteria, etc. This may not look like a great difference, but the Drinking Water purifier must be one thousand times (1000x) as effective as the filter!

The Drinking Water purifier gives you super-pure water in even the most highly contaminated and dangerous circumstances. Trouble is, most Drinking Water purifiers are costly, and those who need them most cannot afford them.

Ward’s solar Drinking Water purifier cleans contaminated water with nothing but direct sunlight. The Drinking Water purifier can turn even ocean water, effluent, and bore water into fresh, drinkable water. All of this, it does with no moving parts, no electronics, no costly filters and no chemicals.

The brighter your sunlight, the better the Drinking Water purifier works, but even on slightly cloudy days, the unit will purify, since the built-up temperature in it will have reached a reasonable high.

Picture this

You set up a solar Drinking Water purifier in your back yard or on your deck. The unit is low, a foot or so off the ground, and approximately the size of an average barbecue grill. It slopes from one end to the other, and resembles a box of black plastic trays covered with glass.

You attach your input hose or bottle at one end of the Drinking Water purifier box. The dirty, impure water enters the chamber of cascading black trays. You walk away, and let the sunshine do its work.

As it shines through the glass, the sun gives radiated heat rays that are absorbed by the water and then the black plastic cells. The heat is conducted to the water, causing it to vaporize. As it vaporizes, the water condenses on the underside of the glass cover. The pure water then runs down the glass and into the collection channel.

Water leaves the Drinking Water purifier at the opposite end from which it entered, and drips into your collection bottle. When you return, your pure water is ready to enjoy.
